Indian Point CAP

Entergy, owner and operator of the Indian Point nuclear power plants in Buchanan, NY announced in January 2017 that the nuclear reactors would cease operations by 2021. The Community Advisory Panel (CAP) serves as a formal channel of community involvement and communications on Indian Point decommissioning issues.

Taconic Marketing has worked with the Village of Buchanan since 2009, and was asked to quickly develop a website to serve as a central communications hub for the process. Working with the village, we were able to launch the site within less than two weeks.

Other Services: Taconic Marketing set up a Mail Chimp account for the village, which includes an audience segment for information pertaining to the decommissioning process, enabling the village administrator to keep the community up-to-date on new developments.

Yorktown Grange Fair Screen Shot

Yorktown Grange Fair

The annual Yorktown Grange Fair is the only authentic agricultural fair in Westchester County and is a favorite among residents of the entire metropolitan area. Taconic Marketing designed the first website for the fair in 1997 and has been designing and maintaining the site since.

The audience for this site changes as the seasons progress. Early in the year, the site is used mainly by potential sponsors, vendors and entertainers. As summer progresses, local residents and exhibitors want information about contests and competitions. Finally, as fair time approaches, information like schedules of events, admissions fees, directions, and special offers become the focus.

To facilitate updates while maintaining the design, the site is modular, allowing easy "swapping" of information throughout the year. The home page features prominent rotating images to convey some of the fun of the fair.

Other Services: Taconic Marketing provides all pre-event publicity including radio, newspaper and magazine advertising; and banners and signs. We design and produce the fair program, which features a logo illustrating the current fair theme.

Perennia Landscaping Screen Shot

Perennia Landscaping

What could be more impressive than beautiful gardens? With Perennia Landscaping the challenge was to “frame” the client's excellent photographs of stunning gardens and present adequate information for consumers about the services and benefits of working with Perennia.

As a result, the gardens are the star of the show. Every page features a large photograph. Sidebars are used when appropriate to provide additional information. The design relies heavily on earth tones which provide a neutral background for the images. An extensive portfolio comprises photo galleries of different gardens categorized by types of plantings and purposes of gardens.

Other Services: As part of this project we designed a new logo for Perennia Landscaping and provided vector artwork which can be used in print and for signs.
